Last night I got an email from an old college friend.

The email was originally written by Michael Moore, the guy who did TV Nation and Roger and Me. Essentially it was a list of reasons why we, the US, were at fault for the WTC and the Pentagon attacks. We Trained bin Laden. We insulted his followers' quasi-Islamic sensabilities by invading Iraq and then by not completely leaving after that war was over.

Don't blame the drunk driver. Blame the driving school and the liquor store.

Fuck. That.

I wrote back to everyone on the list of recipients that emails like that, at this point in time, offend me. There will come a time for assigning blame. It is very possible that the finger will be pointed at home as well as abroad. But this is not that time. Not yet. Now we should concern ourselves with rescuing, and cleaning, and healing, and rebuilding. Then we find and punish those who did this. Then we take a look at ourselves to see if we facilitated it. That is the only acceptable sequence of events. Anything else takes our eye off the ball. Takes our national attention away from where it should be.

On those of us who lost so much.

Along the same lines, there is to way to articulate how angry this article makes me feel. I am ashamed to call these men fellow Christians. I am ashamed that a relative of mine works for one of them.

How dare they.
